Chardonnay Russian River Valley 2015

Another amazing vintage of Chardonnay for Cleary Ranch. 100% barrel fermented with native yeasts in 18% New French oak. Hailing from three different sites in the Russian River Valley, a full 30% of the final blend is from our Cleary Ranch Estate. A soft hue of golden straw with an initial perfume of poached pear, marzipan, and lemon rind, the cool vintage and coastal influence shine through with a stony mineral note as well. The wine opens up into a bouquet of fresh citrus and sweet roses, along with hints of brioche and caramel in the background. Honeyed melons, ripe pear and Meyer lemon all dance together on the palate, with hints of toasted hazelnuts completing the performance. The word “balance” can be overused in wine, but here is an example of the real deal – vibrant acidity and excellent structure supported by gorgeous texture and tremendous length. Wonderful and lively now, this Chardonnay should enjoy another 3-5 years outstanding evolution in your cellar.
